 This week we celebrate the birthday of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, who wrote, “El no esperar alguno / me sirve de consuelo; / que también es alivio / el no buscar remedio.” (translated by Alan S. Trueblood: “It’s some consolation / to be expecting none: / there’s relief to be found / in seeking no cure.”) So may ~read more~ This week we celebrate the birthday of Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz, the first feminist in the Americas.
