Search Packet

Welcome to the online version of my search packet! I am not in search these days, but I am leaving this up as a reference for friends who might be creating their own online packets.

Ever since a summer Sunday in 1996, I have known that Unitarian Universalism was my spiritual home.  For seven years now, it has been my home and my vocation.  First as Interim Minister of Religious Education with Countryside Church UU; then as Senior Minister with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Grand Traverse; and as Interim Minister serving the First Unitarian Church of Hobart, Indiana, I have been happy to serve the world as a professional minister. I have been hired by the Board of the First Unitarian Church of South Bend, Indiana, to serve as their Consulting Minister, beginning September 1, 2013). I am eager to help the members and friends as they work to create a better world for themselves and their community.

I hope you find what you are looking for, in this online documentation.  If you have other questions, I welcome your inquiries–email me at chip AT SoMayWeBe DOT com or phone me on my cellphone, at area code 231, exchange 709 and number 0032.

Thank you again for coming to my little corner of the internet.  May you find the best possible minister for your congregation.

As you are willing, I would like to offer a prayer.  I invite you to relax. Take a deep breath…feel your lungs move; feel the Life pulsing in your veins…

We call upon the names that remind us of the unrestrained power and the delicate fragility of life:  Odin, Allfather, and Grandmother Spirit;  YHWH, Jehovah, Allah; Green Goddess Tara and Tiamat, mother ocean…

We speak these names to call upon the qualities we most need in ourselves; we reach, inward and outward, and connect with the Spirit of Life…

we are grateful to be alive this day;

we are grateful to be part of this gathered UU community; we desire to find the right clergy person to accompany us in this next phase of our shared journey;

we desire wisdom, and openness; we desire a good balance of patience and willingness to act; we desire clarity as we search for a minister;

we are grateful for our lives together; we desire that all beings receive enough food, and shelter, and peace of mind today; we pledge ourselves in pursuit of that goal;

praise for living;

So may we be.
